Vaughn Bigelow Jr. Water Polo Scholarship Application.

Vaughn was a competitive swimmer and loved playing water polo for the Rocky Mountain Neptunes. He was part of the Olympic Development Program, representing the mountain zone team at Nationals. In addition to Vaughn’s many accomplishments in and out of the pool, he had the desire to give back to others. This scholarship helps bring that desire to life.

Criteria for Scholarship

An applicant must:

  • Be a contributing member of a water polo club or a Colorado high school water polo club team. Leadership, attitude, improvement, and dedication are all essential factors.

  • Be a graduating high school senior.

  • Have acted as a positive role model and mentored younger water polo players.

  • Have shown a high degree of sportsmanship and participated in other extracurricular activities.

  • Be a team player.

  • Have a minimum aggregate unweighted GPA of at least 3.0.

The scholarship committee is looking for all-around students and enthusiastic members of their water polo team. It is not necessary to be an MVP or star athlete.

Important Scholarship Dates

Application deadline is April 30. Recipients of the scholarship are notified by May 31.
