Congratulations, Vincent Mattei, on being a 2024 Vaughn Bigelow Jr. Scholarship recipient. Vincent is a 2024 Thomas Jefferson High School graduate in Denver, Colorado. An academic powerhouse in high school, he plans to jump right into college and start fulfilling his dream to create new drugs and technology to help thousands or even millions of people.

July 8th, 2024, is National Lock Your Gun Day, and what would’ve been Bubba’s 20th birthday. As we reflect on what this day means to us, we’d like to share the story behind National Lock Your Gun Day and how we’ve worked to create positive change in our communities so that no one else needs to join this club or stare at the urn of ashes on their living room shelf.

In December 2023, we partnered with Adams County Health Department on gun safety to help prevent gun fatalities in our Colorado communities.

Founded in 2019, the Vaughn Bigelow Big Waves Scholarship aims to create a ripple of positivity in the lives of young water polo athletes in Colorado. Submit your application today, as the deadline is April 30th, 2024.

Today, we're discussing the subject of donating blood. It starts with a small ripple—a single act of kindness, your decision to donate blood, can transform into a massive wave of hope and healing for families.

Our mission is to reduce the number of injuries and deaths caused by gun accidents and gun violence. We do this by providing education, programming, and safe gun storage to anyone in need, as well as providing a constructive outlet for you through the promotion of team sports to help process difficult emotions.

The Vaughn Bigelow Jr. Scholarship aims to create ripples that extend far beyond the pool. The scholarship isn’t just about financial support; it’s about the transformative impact it has on the lives of young individuals like Jack Klein, Alison Jackson, and Evamarie Kropp.

Dear Big Waves Supporters, As we enter the holiday season this year, we’d like to reflect and celebrate the milestones we hit in 2023. This December, we celebrated our 5th year as a nonprofit organization.

Today, we’re diving into a topic close to our hearts—giving blood. As many of you may know, after the shooting that took Bubba’s life, blood donations and the incredible trauma doctors helped save Meghan’s and Asa’s lives. We want to pay it forward and create a ripple of positivity by encouraging you to donate blood.
