2024 Big Waves Recap

Ever wonder what impact your donations have on Big Waves?

Here’s a quick recap of 2024. Thanks for helping us further our mission of gun safety and supporting kids through water polo and beyond.

We worked with the Adam County Sheriff’s Department again this year to give out free gun locks in December.

Last year, we shipped 657 gun locks and gave away another 500 to local law enforcement, Moms Demand Action, and community partners.

This year, we held three blood drives, registered 59 blood donors, collected 58 whole blood units and 25 double red units, and had 8 first-time blood donors!

Joshua Woren and Vincent Mattei the 2024 Vaughn Bigelow Jr. scholarship recipients.

We awarded two Vaughn Bigelow Jr. Scholarships. Congratulations to Josh Woren and Vincent Mattei! Two people have now received the scholarship for four years.

We released Treading Still, a documentary about Vaughn Jr. and the tragedy that took his life and inspired Big Waves. As of January 2025 it’s received over 249,000 views on YouTube, helping us further our mission of gun safety.

We couldn't do it without you. Thank you for your donations and time. We appreciate you!
