“The Big Waves Scholarship has had a profound impact on my life and my pursuit of higher education, enabling me to attend a top California state school. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to study public health and Spanish in Argentina and Ecuador during my Junior year of college (current). Furthermore, the Big Waves scholarship has motivated me to continue finding waterpolo communities wherever I go. In Argentina this past fall, I found and played for a women’s waterpolo team. Despite the challenges in language and culture barriers, I made many friends and discovered the beauty of waterpolo to break down these barriers. Opportunities such as this would not be possible without the Big Waves Scholarship.”
