Our mission is to reduce the number of injuries and deaths caused by gun accidents and gun violence. We do this by providing education, programming, and safe gun storage to anyone in need, as well as providing a constructive outlet for you through the promotion of team sports to help process difficult emotions.

Dear Big Waves Supporters, As we enter the holiday season this year, we’d like to reflect and celebrate the milestones we hit in 2023. This December, we celebrated our 5th year as a nonprofit organization.

Today, we’re diving into a topic close to our hearts—giving blood. As many of you may know, after the shooting that took Bubba’s life, blood donations and the incredible trauma doctors helped save Meghan’s and Asa’s lives. We want to pay it forward and create a ripple of positivity by encouraging you to donate blood.

Gun violence is a chilling and persistent problem in many parts of the world, particularly in the United States. The statistics alone are haunting. Thousands of lives are lost every year due to firearm-related incidents. While the numbers may seem frightening, there is hope.

A gun training course is a responsible step for anyone who owns or plans to own firearms. It provides education, skills, and a heightened sense of responsibility, ensuring you can enjoy the benefits of gun ownership while minimizing risks and contributing to a safer community.

2023 was the Big Waves Team's 5th year riding in the Courage Classic on Copper Mountain in Colorado.

The Courage Classic aims to create a better world for children, dollar by dollar, pedal by pedal, one mountain pass at a time. Founded in 1990, the Courage Classic is the single largest event bringing people together to raise money for Children’s Colorado.

Meet Meghan, a gun violence survivor and co-founder of Big Waves. Big Waves was started in honor of her son Vaughn Jr. who was lost five years ago on June 14th in a road rage incident. A GoFundMe campaign will run through July 8th (Bubba's birthday) and National Lock Your Gun Day to honor his life and further Big Wave's missions.

July 8th, 2023, would’ve been Vaughn Jr.’s 19 birthday and marks the 5th anniversary of his passing. Help us honor his memory and spread the message about gun safety.

All children should have a chance for a healthy and happy future. That's why Big Wave is riding to support the ARCH (Adaptive Recreation for Children’s Health) Program at Children’s Hospital of Colorado this year. All funds raised will go towards helping and expanding the program and providing financial assistance to any program participants in ARCH.
